Sports floor surface installed at RFU England Training Facility, Bagshot
4Runner Sport Surfaces worked closely with Contractor, Volker Fitzpatrick, and project designer, Forge Design Studio, to provide an Olympic Standard athletic sprint straight for the England Rugby Squad at their new Permanent Training Facility at Pennyhill Park, Bagshot.
The Mondo track surface, Sportflex SX, was selected because of its excellent shock absorption, lateral foot support and high energy return giving the athlete greater contact area during athletic sprint training. Mondo has Olympic Games pedigree having provided the last 9 Olympic track surfaces. The Sportflex SX is a molded and vulcanised prefabricated track surface with directional honeycomb backing. The surface does not deposit rubber granules with use and provides the athlete with responsive elastic performance during the rolling movement of the foot.
