Having installed the sports floor to the centre of the Velodrome track some 15 years ago and following its recent duty as a vaccine centre in the fight against COVID, the sports floor in the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome needed a makeover to bring it back to a performance sports surface free from all the temporary taped lines that had been applied to mark out 2m boxes and general dirt from outside trafficked on people footwear whilst receiving their vaccine.
The process involved the though deep clean of the floor using specialist equipment and chemicals to remove all contaminates, repairs to any seams requiring attention, the application of new line marking paint to the sports courts followed by several coats of Bona HD Sport Seal which glazes the surfaces and provides the correct amount of friction for sport usage on the surface. The results were amazing and the floor looked almost new again.
