New Sports Floor at Cathedral School, Cardiff

Premier Plus Sprung Floor finished in Lava Red Sport Linoleum

Cathedral School at Llandaff, Cardiff, needed to replace their tired sports hall floor. They selected 4Runner Sport Surfaces to carry out this operation following field visits to previously completed projects. They selected the Premier Plus Area Elastic Sprung Floor System finished in a vibrant “Lava Red” Sport Linoleum in keeping with the Welsh Rugby Colours.

Following reports of bubbles appearing in their old surface, damp readings were taken on the subfloor and it was found that moisture was entering the hall from beneath. To overcome this problem, 4Runner removed the old surface and installed a damp proof underlay system, Isola Platon Stop,  with Butyl sealed joints which protected the new floor system from the moisture. The Premier Plus System was then installed directly over the damp proof underlay.

The Premier Plus System finished in Sport Linoleum is a multipurpose sprung floor system suitable for all indoor sports such as Badminton, Basketball, Netball, Volleyball, 5-a-side Football and Hockey. It is also suitable for roller sports where roller skates or roller blades are used. It also stiletto heal proof which enables the system to be used for non-sport activities such as dances, exhibitions and concerts as well as being able to accept exam tables and chairs.
