4Runner Sport Surfaces were selected by East Devon District Council to replace the worn tennis surface at East Devon Tennis Centre, Exmouth. Having installed the previous surface some 10 years earlier, 4Runner had previous knowledge and experience to assist the client with the refurbishment work by producing a sub-floor preparation guide following the removal of the old surface. 4Runner was awarded the contract following the council’s tender process.
The new surface selected by the Council was the DLW Velour 1000 Indoor Tennis Surface which has excellent durability, comfort and sport functionality. The short and dense 1000gram/m2 pile weight of the performance velour surface provided a medium speed surface with consistent ball bounce making it suitable for players at all levels of tennis.
The product is available in a wide range of colours that enabled the client to create a distinctive appearance to the facility. The works were completed ahead of schedule to the delight of the staff and players who were back on court in no time.
